Thirty-one $1 million-plus transactions lead December high-end deals

Is the local realty market cooling? It could, according to the high number of deals that were closed in Erie County last week.

We define high-end deals as transactions that exceed $400,000 in value. This was a decrease from December's 233 deals and December 2021's 223 deals.

However, outside factors may have kept this number down. Due to the Christmas weekend's deadly blizzard, the Erie County clerk's offices were closed for three days more than they had planned. No transactions were filed during that time. We don't know if enough money would have been received to make up the difference so we will continue to wait and watch the market to see the results.

December was a remarkable month in terms of transactions exceeding $1 million. 31 sales of $1 million or more were filed during December. This is less than one month since March 2019, when 35 sales were closed.

Below are all December high-end deals in descending order. Each listing includes the address, community, price, seller, and buyer. The county clerk's office provides a form that allows you to spell and present addresses and names. Surnames are used before first and middle names.
