Hurricane season has been on pause. Here's when that could change
·1 min
The Atlantic Ocean is expected to become active again after a period of dormancy following Hurricane Beryl. The upcoming tropical activity is anticipated to begin earlier than usual. This season started with Beryl becoming a Category 5 hurricane, which was fueled by warm ocean waters. Since then, the presence of dry, dusty air and unfavorable upper-level winds has suppressed tropical activity. However, these conditions are expected to change in August, with forecasts indicating potential tropical development from late July to mid-August. The most active period of the Atlantic hurricane season typically occurs from mid-August to mid-October.
