Canada will resume funding for the main United Nations agency supporting Palestinian refugees in Gaza, officials said Friday, citing the humanitarian catastrophe there. The country was among more than a dozen that had declared it would suspend payments to the aid organization because of allegations against UNRWA employees. Canadian officials said they had received an interim report from the internal United Nations office investigating the claims, and that the agency had taken steps to improve oversight and accountability. The European Union also announced last week that it was increasing funds to the agency.
