Stocks in Europe are still flying high in the wake of Donald Trump’s election as US president, with a strong chance that the US’s Dow Jones industrial Average could strike a new record when stocks open there later in the day.
At pixel time:
- Germany’s Xetra Dax index is up 1 per cent.
- The FTSE 100 is up by 0.8 per cent.
- France’s CAC 40 is up by 1.3 per cent.
The rally follows a healthy bounce back in Asian markets overnight, including a 6.7 per cent gain in the Nikkei 225.
